Aborted - Retrogore Review

The crazed gentlemen from Belgium have returned with another fine slab of death grind. This time they've called over a few guest vocalists from various bands on four songs. At this point of the bands career they've become a veteran class act, they know what they're doing and throwing in a few new ideas to keep things fresh. For the most part the album is great however, I feel that after track 7 it's starts to sound like one big song for a while. This album takes influences from Carcass, Napalm Death, Decapitated, and the like. My favorite tracks would have to be "Bit by Bit", "Termination Redux" and "Divine Impediment" since I felt those were the most well put together songs with the elements used. Retrogore has been out for a few days now on Century Media Records, have a listen this is not just another run of the mill death metal album.

Condition Critical - Extermination Plan

Review

So, I've given a few listens to their new album and I'm pleased. This isn't some dumb thrash album with overly generic instrumentation and stupid ass lyrics, rather it's a brutal dose of east coast style thrash metal. Their previous album "Operational Hazard" was a solid debut and now we have this new album. This obliterates the previous, it's more visceral and crushing. The riffs are very well thought out in their arrangements, and they carry the songs along nicely and sort of flow right into the next track. The bass stands out nicely and adds to the aggression. This kept my attention throughout my listen, however this all ended faster than I anticipated. I was left wanting more! This isn't bad, instead it's a damn good thing if I felt that way if I wanted to hear more! Extermination Plan is available right now on youtube and can be bought off the bands indiegopage.

Vektor - Terminal Redux

I'm very excited for the new Vektor album due for release this May. The band has uploaded three tracks off of the album; Charging the Void, Ultimate Artificer, and Pillars of Sand. This is the first time Vektor recorded a concept album, and what I've heard so far is quite amazing. For now, the only way to listen to the unreleased tracks is through one minute samples off iTunes. Like many, I'm very anxious for what they have in store for us next month when it finally drops. I'm very certain it will live up to our expectations and this album will push them forward towards more success in their campaign to dominate the galaxy!
